Alusia
Captivated by the deeper side of drum and bass, Alusia began her DJing journey years after discovering, collecting, and amassing a record collection from influential labels that truly spoke to her: Seba’s Secret Operations, Marcus Intalex’s Soul:r, Klute’s Commerical Suicide, dBridges Exit Records; to narrowing in futher with some of the genre’s more experimental, darker, and mystical themes like Om Unit’s Cosmic Bridge, Presha’s Samurai Music to Derrick Funkmaster’s Shambala Records. Once she locked into her signature style, Alusia began mixing in 2015; setting herself apart at the time with a vinyl-only commitment until making the switch to digital in the summer of 2024. She believes her vinyl background still very much influences her mixing today— drawing attention to her thoughtful process of giving tracks the breathing room they deserve— with lengthy blending and intentional break-to-break transitions. https://soundcloud.com/alus1a
Alusia has shared the stage with major players such as Bukem, Jubei + Sp:mc, Amit, Jumpin’ Jack Frost and Degs. In 2015, she co-founded Vinyl Revisions in Asheville, NC with the *soul purpose of injecting something fresh into the local scene - with one strict, non-negotiable rule: vinyl only. Transitioning from monthly gigs to seasonal, themed events, they now focus on DnB and Breakbeat soundscapes through fun-themed parties like Spring Breaks, Winter Luau, and their daytime pickleball dance series, Pickled Beats.
